ABOUT ME...

The conductor Nicolas Krüger has been a guest of the most beautiful opera houses for twenty years, in France - Lille, Dijon, Nantes, Rennes, Nice, Toulon, Limoges, Avignon - as well as in Germany - Erfurt, Leipzig, in Canada, and in several Asian countries.


Music director of the Leipzigersymphonieorchester from 2017 to 2021, he has made numerous concerts tours in Germany.

The last season saw him make his debut at the Avignon Opera in Samson et Dalila, as well as at the Erfurt Opera in Germany in Gluck's Telemaco. He also collaborated with Bartabas for Mozart's Requiem with the Toulon Opera Orchestra at the Châteauvallon Festival.

In 2022 he founded Libertalia with violist Loan Cazal, a string ensemble mixing generations and repertoires in new concert forms.


Recognized as a great connoisseur of the works of Mozart, he regularly conducts his operas, and taught his style for ten years at the prestigious Académie du Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.

A pianist highly appreciated by opera artists, he regularly performs in recitals in France and abroad. Stéphanie d'Oustrac, Stéphane Degout, Jodie Devos are among his concert partners. Several recordings have been released recently, including one with soprano Jodie Devos, “And Love said” awarded a “Record of the month” by Gramophone magazine and the Caecilia prize from the Belgian Press Union, or more recently with mezzo-soprano Albane Carrère “There's someone on earth” which gave rise to a tour in winter 2024.


Nicolas Krüger was also associate conductor of the Accentus choir in the 1990s, with whom he created many new scores, as well as associate conductor of the BBC singers London. He now continues his passionate exploration of language and its relationship to music through writing and composition.

 

Since 2020, he has taught conducting at the Ecole supérieure des Arts de Mons in Belgium. He is also musical director of his orchestra which leads ambitious projects and performs in concerts throughout the year.
